Leanne Redrow
8th Grade Math Teacher | McCullough Middle School
2027 Teacher of the Year
Leanne Redrow is a dedicated 8th grade math teacher at McCullough Middle School with 17 years of experience in education—all proudly within Colonial School District. A true product of Colonial schools, Leanne attended Colwyck, Carrie Downie, and George Read before graduating from William Penn High School in 2005. Her journey into education began early, working in the district’s Administration Building during high school, where she discovered her passion for teaching.
Leanne earned her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Mathematics Education from Wilmington University in 2009, graduating with a 3.98 GPA. She began her teaching career at George Read Middle School, where she spent 12 years teaching 7th and 8th grade math and advising student clubs. She later expanded her impact through the Colonial Virtual Program, teaching grades 6–8 and earning recognition as the program’s 2024 Teacher of the Year. She also holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.
Now a proud member of the McCullough community, Leanne is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her students and fostering a classroom environment rooted in respect, collaboration, and high expectations. She believes students learn best when they feel valued and supported, and she strives to inspire each student to reach their full potential—both academically and personally.
Leanne embodies the “Power of WE” by creating a classroom culture where students are encouraged to take risks, collaborate, and grow as confident problem-solvers. She works closely with colleagues to ensure every voice is heard and every student is supported.
Outside the classroom, Leanne is a proud wife, mother, and lifelong Colonial community member. She enjoys drag racing, bowling, and raising chickens. Her deep family ties to the district—spanning multiple generations—reflect her strong commitment to the Colonial community.
Leanne’s goal as an educator is simple yet powerful: to be the teacher her students remember as someone who believed in them, challenged them, and helped them succeed.
